In-text citations:
When citing a book, give the author's last name, space, then the page number. Example: (Coelho 4). The period goes after the citation. Do not just add a quote without first writing "into" it. Example: Santiago, the main character in The Alchemist, is determined to pursue his dreams despite facing several setbacks, "he was constantly subjected to tests of his persistence and courage" (Coelho 89). The point of the quote is to support or prove your statement. Book titles should be italicized: The Alchemist, To Kill a Mockingbird, Game of Thrones. |
